Novices Travel Wild Atlantic Way

Novices at one with nature

Date: 05 Nov 2015

Venue: Munster

Br Martin Kenneally, Congregation Leader, took the four novices on an Emmaus Journey on West Cork’s Wild Atlantic Way, from Friday 9th October to Monday 12th October 2015.

They visited Lough Hyne – Europe’s first marine nature reserve and a place of stunning natural beauty, climbed Knockomagh Hill for one of the best views in Ireland of the wild Atlantic and Carbery’s Hundred Isles, and took in a three-hour sea safari on Roaring Water Bay, among many other things. Their journey was interspersed with some input on discipleship of Jesus and reflections on Laudato Si – Pope Francis’ encyclical letter on Care of our Common Home. Each of the novices was then asked to write a reflection on their experience, which they have very kindly allowed to be published here, to give some idea as to what an Emmaus journey can bring to one’s faith journey.

DouglasStanislausColins and David each wrote about their experience.
